Thanks for your insightful comment Andrea.

I've now published an article I was writing about this progress you mentioned.

Perhaps you haven't understood my article, and maybe I wasn't crystal clear too. The fact is that I talked about making your application findable AND accessible. It means it is possible to access a specific state of the application with a deep-link. So you don't have to start at the beginning, if I follow what you say.

I think I'll make a schema to clear things and also to lighten a bit the heavy text block. :)

Hello there,
the XSLT solution is a good one to get the same data into the .swf as on the page, however, it doesn't help with the interaction that takes place within the .swf.

I'm sure you've heard the recent announcements that .swfs are now indexable by google, and yahoo! is coming along as well. This is great from an SEO perspective, but I actually think it will hurt accessibility.

Actually, the same challenge arises when you use the technique you mention above - Someone may click on a search result to be directed to a page with a huge flash application, and have to start at the beginning (accessible PDFs have the same problem). While making the document itself findable on search engines is a step in the right direction, we can't forget the interactivity and navigation that also has to be in place.
